Prayer for the New in Our Life
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for the gift of new beginnings. You are the God who makes all things new, and we praise You for the fresh seasons You bring into our lives. As we step into the new, we ask for Your guidance, Your strength, and Your wisdom.
Help us to let go of the past and walk boldly into what You have prepared for us. May we trust You even when the path is unfamiliar, knowing that Your plans for us are good.
Fill our hearts with hope, ignite our faith, and renew our spirits each day.
Lord, bless the new relationships, new opportunities, new dreams, and new adventures that You have ordained. Let them bring glory to Your name and draw us closer to You.
We declare that the new in our lives is covered by Your grace, led by Your Spirit, and built on Your promises.
In Jesus' name, Amen.

Explaining "new" to a young person
“New” means something that is different from before—something that has just started, hasn’t been used, or brings a fresh beginning.
You can say:
“When something is new, it’s not the same old thing. It’s fresh, recently made, or it gives you a chance to start over.”
"Getting a new phone means it’s just been made or it's the first time you're using it."
"Starting a new school year means you have a fresh chance to learn, grow, and try again."
"Making a new friend means you’re meeting someone you didn’t know before."
"In the Bible, 'new' doesn’t just mean recent—it also means changed. When you follow Jesus, He gives you a new heart, new purpose, and new life. You’re not just improved—you’re transformed into who God created you to be."
“Being new in Christ means your past doesn’t define you anymore. God gives you a fresh start and a new direction.
New on Tuesday - 5/6/25
The word “new” in family life means you don’t have to stay stuck in old patterns.
Through Christ, you can choose:
🕊️ No matter what yesterday looked like, today can be a “new day” for your home.
You can speak this aloud each morning or post it somewhere visible:
"This home is filled with God's peace.
This family is led by His love.
Each day, we walk in His new mercies.
We speak with kindness, live with purpose,
And trust that God is making all things new."
New on Wednesday - from 5/7/25
Heard an interesting quote today. “Thieves do not break into empty houses.” Scripture tells us, “The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.” John 10:10.
Is your house empty? Are you filling your house with God’s Word so that you may live life more abundantly?
I have heard folks say - if the devil is not after you, then you must not be a threat to him. If you are not a threat, then he won't waste his time on your house! Do you want to be an empty house, not bothered by the devil or a house filled with God’s Word, a threat to the devil, but protected by God’s promises?
Love you and God Bless you and your family!

Here are some old hymns that include the word “new”—often in reference to new life, new songs, new creation, or the new covenant in Christ:

“Jesus, the Very Thought of Thee”
(Attributed to Bernard of Clairvaux, 12th century)
“When I Survey the Wondrous Cross”
(1707, Isaac Watts)
“Love Divine, All Loves Excelling”
(1747, Charles Wesley)
“Sing to the Lord a New Song”
(based on Psalm 96)
“This Is the Day the Lord Has Made”
(Isaac Watts, 1719)

Let's rekindle our connection with the "old" church hymns. Many of today's churches rarely sing these, but they are powerful melodies that can resonate in the soul.
A selected hymn will be featured bi-weekly. I will provide background information on its creation and purpose. Let's bring back the "old" hymns and their message!
This week's hymn -"Trust and Obey"

There will be a word we will focus on each month. Examining the meaning, how and where it is used and any Biblical references.
Promise (n.) a declaration or assurance that one will do a particular thing or that a particular thing will happen.
At first glance, the thousands of promises in the Bible may seem overwhelming. As a believer, do we need to know all of them? Well, it certainly would not hurt to know all of them, however, many of them have already been fulfilled, especially during the time of the First Coming. The promises can be organized in two groups those in the "Old" testament and those in the "New" testament. Let's look the ones found in the "New" testament.
Choosing to receive Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior is your most important decision ever!
God’s Word promises, “If thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation” (Rom. 10:9–10).
“For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved” (Rom. 10:13). By His grace, God has already done everything to provide salvation. Your part is simply to believe and receive.
Pray out loud: “Jesus, I acknowledge that I’ve sinned and need to receive what you did for the forgiveness of my sins. I confess that You are my Lord and Savior. I believe in my heart that God raised You from the dead. By faith in Your Word, I receive salvation now. Thank You for saving me.” The moment you commit your life to Jesus Christ, the truth of His Word instantly comes to pass in your spirit. Now that you’re born again, there’s a brand-new you!
Please contact either one of the following churches online or a local church and let them know that you’ve prayed to receive Jesus as your Savior and to speak to a staff member who will help you understand and grow in your new relationship with the Lord. Welcome to your new life!
